The Faculty of Electrical Engineering in Sarajevo participates as a partner in the "MARBLE – Maritime Robotics in Blue Economy" project, financed under the INTERREG Adrion scheme, within which a new joint master's study program will be developed. The coordinator of the project is the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computing from Zagreb. The project leader in front of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering in Sarajevo is Prof. Dr. Adnan Tahirović. The project started in January 2023 and will last until September 2023.

The main goal of the MARBLE project is to raise competencies and skills in the application of maritime robotics in the area of ​​the blue economy by supporting the preparation of the innovative joint master's program "MARBLE - Maritime Robotics in the Blue Economy" and implementing joint training organized by an international network of universities, research organizations, business clusters and digital centers innovation.

The MARBLE project received strong support from the blue economy industry, with 29 letters of support received from businesses and research organizations interested in contributing to the joint master's program by organizing internships, mentoring students and lectures related to their area of ​​expertise.

The MARBLE project brings together four universities and one research organization: Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computing of the University of Zagreb (Croatia, project coordinator), University of Trieste (Italy), National Technical University of Athens (Greece), Faculty of Electrical Engineering in Sarajevo (Bosnia and Herzegovina), University of Montenegro (Montenegro) and National Institute of Oceanography and Applied Geophysics (Italy).

Partners in the project are also a business cluster and a digital innovation center that acts as a link with industry from the blue economy sector. These are the maritime technology cluster of FVG S.c.a.rl. (Italy) and Digital Innovation Hub (DIH) Agrifood Croatia (Croatia).
